Email notification changes to your AdSense account

We are writing to let you know that we've changed the options for which kinds of emails you can receive from AdSense. In addition to our existing newsletter and survey categories, we've added three new categories to help you make the most of your AdSense account.

If you choose to opt in to all five categories, you'll be eligible to receive personalized help from AdSense specialists, event invitations, beta test offers, and giveaways from AdSense and other Google products. The updated categories are:

*Customized help and performance suggestions*
Receive suggestions from members of the AdSense team for changes you can make to improve performance and earn more from your site.

*Newsletters*
Receive newsletters with optimization tips, best practices, and other information to help you get the most out of your Google AdSense account.

*Google market research*
Receive invitations to test new features, surveys about Google AdSense, and opportunities to provide feedback about your experiences.

*Special offers*
Receive news about AdSense promotions, events, and giveaways.

*Information about other Google products and services which may be of interest to you*
Receive news and special offers from other Google products such as coupons from Google AdWords and other offers we think will benefit you.

If you're already opted in to receive newsletters and surveys, we'll automatically update your preferences to the new newsletter and market research categories.

To opt in to the new email categories or opt out of your existing categories, just sign in to your AdSense account. You'll be presented with instructions to take advantage of this new opportunity.

Welcome to Google AdSense - You want to know About Google Adsense Follow these instructions

Your Google AdSense application has been approved. You can now activate
your account and get started with AdSense in minutes.
To quickly set up your account, follow the steps below. Or, for a
detailed video walkthrough, view our Getting Started tutorial:
http://www.google.com/adsensewelcome_getstarteddemo.

STEP 1: Log in to your account.
Visit https://www.google.com/adsense?hl=en_US and log in using
the 'Existing Customer Login' box at the top right. If you've forgotten
your password, visit https://www.google.com/accounts/ForgotPasswd for
assistance.

STEP 2: Generate and implement the AdSense code.
Click on the 'AdSense Setup' tab, then follow the guided steps to
customize your code. When you've reached the final step, copy the code
from the 'Your AdSense code' box and paste it into the HTML source of
your site. If you don't have access to edit the HTML source of your
pages, contact your webmaster or hosting company.

Not sure how to add the code to the HTML source of your page? Our Help
with Ad Code video tutorial can guide you through the process - find
the tutorial at http://www.google.com/adsensewelcome_implementingadcode.

Once the code is implemented on your site, Google ads and AdSense for
search will typically begin running within minutes. However, if Google
has not yet crawled your site, you may not notice relevant ads for up
to 48 hours.

Step 3: See the results.
After your ads start running, you can see your earnings at anytime by
checking the online reports on the Reports tab in your account. For a
quick overview of your earnings reports and the 5 steps to getting
paid, view our Payments Guide: https://www.google.com/adsense/payments.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
* Want to test your ads? Please don't click on them - clicking on your
own ads is against the AdSense program policies
(https://www.google.com/adsense/policies). Instead, try the AdSense
preview tool, which allows you to check the destination of ads on your
page without the risk of invalid clicks. For additional information, or
to download the AdSense preview tool, please visit
https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/topic.py?topic=160.

* You can add the code to a new page or site at any time. Please keep
in mind, however, that we monitor all of the web pages that contain the
AdSense code. If we find that a publisher's web pages violate our
policies, we'll take appropriate actions, which may include the
disabling of the account. For more information, please review the
Google AdSense Terms and Conditions (
http://www.google.com/adsguide/tnc).

About Google Adsense - Google AdSense: You've Got Ads!

As a new AdSense publisher, you've got a world of information to absorb. We've highlighted some key resources to help answer your top questions.

Can I add more sites to my account?
Certainly! Once you've added the code to one website, feel free to add it to more of your sites or pages that comply with our program policies (http://www.google.com/adsense_newpub1/policies ) -- the Google code will work for any page or site.

How can I block certain ads from showing on my site?
If you see ads that you'd prefer not to display, don't worry. You can prevent these ads from appearing on your site by using your Competitive Ad Filter to block them. Our Filter Guide (http://www.google.com/adsense_newpub1/urlfilter ) shows how.

How do I earn with AdSense?
The ads you're displaying on your site are a combination of cost-per-click (CPC) and cost-per-thousand-impression (CPM) ads. You'll get paid for each valid user click on a CPC ad and each time a user views a CPM ad. Keep in mind that you won't generate any earnings from clicking on your own ads or asking others to click, which are prohibited by our program policies.

When will I get paid?
For an overview of our payment schedule and requirements for getting paid, visit our Payment Guide: http://www.google.com/adsense_newpub1/payments.

What if my ads aren't relevant?
If you've had the code on your site for more than 48 hours, and you're still seeing public service ads or ads that aren't relevant to your site content, it might be for a number of reasons - visit our Help Center for details: http://www.google.com/adsense_newpub1/relevant.

How can I help keep my account in good standing?
To start, don't click on your own ads or ask others to do so. Plus, take the time to read and comply with our full list of program policies ( http://www.google.com/adsense_newpub1/policies ).

Where can I get more help?
Check out the AdSense Help Center for quick and comprehensive answers at any time: http://www.google.com/adsense_newpub1/help. You can also ask questions at the AdSense Help Discussion Group: http://groups.google.com/group/adsense-help.
