To promote its move to get the F out of KFC, the fast food chain gave away free pieces of its new grilled product, leading to shortages (via Consumerist) at some locations and mobs at others, especially after Oprah upped the ante by offering coupons good for free KFC meals. "Guess what happened next?" says Inquisitr, "The short version: riots, racial abuse, pandemonium, a near complete breakdown of KFC's entire supply chain, and some stores simply refusing to honor the coupons." Serious Eats griped that in order to print the crummy coupon, you needed to go to a site that downloaded spyware to your computer. "Are those grill marks even real? I suspect they are painted on with mascara," quipped The Feedbag. So did anyone actually get a taste?
