Finally, the government has taken a less forgiving stance with Cheerios: the FDA wrote a stern letter to General Mills about its cereal-box claim that Cheerios is "clinically proven to lower cholesterol," saying the cereal "may not be legally marketed with the above claims in the United States without an approved new drug application." Reactions have been mixed and predictable.
Under the Obama FDA, writes Michelle Malkin, "no vice is safe... Dijon mustard and arugula exempted, of course." Mark Senak at Eye on FDA calls the agency's priorities askew (that's telling 'em). But Pharma Marketing Blog says "there is a problem when charlatans are free to claim cures with impunity...
